En route down Highway 17 in Colorado one will find a forgotten structure that may have offered the potential for a quiet little home. Now, it has a blown out side as it resides in the “Queen City” of the San Luis Valley.
The town of Moffat was a former shipping town to the other mining communities. It began in the late 1800s to early 1900s; it was even thought of as a spot for the state capitol. It had a train station that ran twice a day, lines coming straight for the mines of Sangre de Cristos and a steady increase of cattle ranching.
A former animal pen stands, signs of ranching.
Forgotten shoes, a fantastic heel and a pair of sneakers.
It is very near to The Great Sand Dunes Park.
